Do you dream of living in the outer archipelago? Starting next fall, a few rental homes will become available on Utö. The homes are primarily intended for families with children and workers needed on the island. Attending a small village school on a very special island is a lifelong memory. Excellent internet connections provide good opportunities for remote work for parents, the village store is open year-round, and the ferry m/s Utö operates free of charge year-round between Utö and Pärnäs in Nagu. Daycare is provided for children under school age.
Öjar Utveckling, owned by the Utö Local Heritage Society, rents out apartments on the island. Öjar owns 12 residential properties and manages one additional property. The size of the homes varies from one to five rooms. Approximately 25–30 people live year-round in Öjar’s residences.
In addition, we offer spaces for school meals, group family daycare, and evening activities for the residents of Utö. Öjar works closely with other stakeholders on Utö, such as government organizations and the city of Pargas, to create conditions for year-round living on the island.
We strive to ensure there is a school, daycare, and functioning infrastructure on the island. To support relocation and provide people — especially families with children and infrastructure workers — the opportunity to settle on Utö for an extended period, rental housing is needed.
Öjar’s main activity is the continuous long-term rental of properties for year-round living on Utö. If you are interested in living year-round on Utö or want to know more about the job opportunities available, you can contact us by email.
